Hematology-Oncology
My approach to care is patient centered. My friends have had cancer and been through treatment. I know it can be very difficult on the person diagnosed, as well as their loved ones. Treatment is hard on the body, so I think any way providers can help patients and their families emotionally navigate this time can be very beneficial.
While I was in school, one of my patients had been in the hospital for weeks and dealing with discomfort, including a leaking ostomy bag, at the young age of 16. She always had a positive attitude and was determined to recover. I would spend a lot of time chatting with her about school, TV shows and crafts to help her pass the time.
Area of Clinical Practice
Adult blood and marrow transplantation, cellular immunotherapy, hematologic malignancies
I am a certified physician assistant who sees patients at the South Lake Union Clinic and UW Medical Center – Montlake.
I decided to specialize in blood and marrow transplantation because it can have a huge impact on patients being treated for hematologic cancers. It is a treatment option that can lead to remission and provide hope.

At Fred Hutch, you receive care from a team of providers with extensive experience in your disease. Your team includes physicians, a patient care coordinator, a registered nurse, an advanced practice provider and others, based on your needs. You also have access to experts like registered dietitians, social workers, acupuncturists, psychiatrists and more who specialize in supporting people with cancer or blood disorders.
Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
