Dr. Lei Deng is a thoracic oncologist with clinical and translational research expertise in thoracic cancers. He conducts clinical and translational thoracic cancer research focused on novel biomarkers and therapeutics, particularly KRAS-mutated lung cancer and other emerging biomarkers. He is especially interested in optimizing systemic therapy for patients undergoing curative surgery and definitive radiotherapy. He is a graduate of West China School of Medicine, Sichuan University, and completed a two-year research training at Stanford University.
Dr. Deng co-leads the early-career working group at International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer’s Career Development Committee since 2025. He was a 2016 editorial fellowship recipient of the Journal of Global Oncology (now JCO Global Oncology) and has served on the publication’s editorial board from 2017 - 2024. He has published more than 40 papers with more than 3,000 citations
Dr. Deng is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer. He is board-certified in medical oncology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
