The Patient Experience department at Fred Hutch Cancer Center is here to help make sure you receive supportive, patient-centered care every step of the way. This applies to both the medical and non-medical interactions you have with Fred Hutch providers, staff and volunteers.
Part of our work includes listening to feedback from all our patients — whether you are or coming to one of our clinics for outpatient services or receiving care as a hospital patient. This input helps us better understand what we do well, as well as where we can improve.
About Patient Experience: How We Support Care
Patient Experience includes four programs that focus on key aspects of the care experience. The combined focus of these programs helps ensure you and your family’s experience at Fred Hutch is built on a foundation of trust and safety.
Patient Engagement
The Fred Hutch Patient and Family Engagement Program creates meaningful partnerships where patients and caregivers share their experiences and collaborate with clinical and research staff on patient panels, focus groups and committees. This helps make sure that patients have a voice in the way care is delivered.
Patient Relations
We make sure patients, families and caregivers always have a convenient way to give us feedback. Whether you have a suggestion, compliment or concern, it’s important to us and we want to hear from you.
Patient Satisfaction
Every patient deserves safe, high-quality, compassionate care. Understanding how our patients experience the care we provide is an important way we ensure that we meet that goal. As a patient at Fred Hutch, you’ll receive a survey after a hospital stay and some of your clinic visits. Our team reviews every response to learn what we’re doing well and what we can improve.
Health Outcomes
The Health Outcomes Program at Fred Hutch works to identify and remove any obstacles to care so that every patient, regardless of their background, can access the high-quality medical services they need.
Getting Involved Matters
Patients and caregivers get involved with the Patient Engagement department for many different reasons. Some people have positive experiences in their care and want to give back while others see room for improvement.
