Hematology-Oncology Fellowship Program
The mission of this ACGME-accredited fellowship is to provide an environment to develop the next generation of leaders in the fields of hematology and oncology. Through clinical training, research, mentorship and faculty development, this program prepares fellows for burgeoning academic careers in basic science, translational research, clinical research and specialty areas such as global health and comparative effectiveness research.

Hannah Abrams, MD
Dr. Abrams is a Hematology/Oncology Fellow at Fred Hutch Cancer Center and the University of Washington. She started her fellowship in 2023.
Her research interests in health outcomes include the logistical costs of care and the economics of care delivery for people with rare cancers. Her work with HICOR is supported by the Anderson Family Sarcoma Fellowship.

Onyema Chido-Amajuoyi, MD
Dr. Onyema Chido-Amajuoyi is a Hematology/Oncology Fellow at Fred Hutch Cancer Center and the University of Washington. Dr. Chido started his fellowship in 2024.

Stefan Allen, PharmD
Dr. Allen is a Cost Effectiveness Fellow. Dr. Allen was a former BAYER post-doctoral research fellow who started in 2021 and graduated from the program in 2023.
Dr. Allen is a licensed pharmacist with HEOR experience supporting multiple therapeutic areas concurrently through drug value and treatment pattern data generation using real-world evidence.
Yuxian Du, PhD
Dr. Yu is a Senior Manager in Research Strategy at Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Yu was a former BAYER post-doctoral research fellow who started in 2018 and graduated from the program in 2020. During his time as a BAYER fellow, his concentration was Pharmacoeconomics with Advanced Cost-Effectiveness Analysis training at the University of Washington, and he later studied Data Generation & Observational Studies at Bayer Healthcare.
Trung Nguyen, PhD
Dr. Nguyen is a HEOR Manager at Neurocrine Biosciences. Dr. Nguyen was a former BAYER post-doctoral research fellow who started in 2017 and graduated from the program in 2019.
Jeremy Snider, PhD, MPH
Dr. Snider is a Senior Quantitative Scientist at Flatiron Health. Dr. Snider was a former BAYER post-doctoral research fellow who started in 2016 and graduated from the program in 2018.
Cara McDermott, PharmD, PhD, MSc
Dr. McDermott is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Geriatrics, Department of Medicine at Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. McDermott was a former post-doctoral research fellow who started in 2016 and graduated from the program in 2018. She completed a T32 postdoctoral fellowship with the Cambia Palliative Care Center of Excellence at the University of Washington and a K12 with the University of Washington’s Implementation Sciences Training Program.
Poorni Manohar, MD
Dr. Manohar is a practicing medical oncologist specializing in treating breast cancer in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Manohar graduated from the oncology fellowship program in 2020. Dr. Manohar is a former Assistant Professor in the Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and an Assistant Professor in the Division of Medical Oncology at the University of Washington.
Cristina Merkhofer, MD, MHS
Dr. Merkhofer is a medical oncologist who serves as an associate medical director at Flatiron Health. Dr. Merkhofer was a former hematology and medical oncology fellow who started in 2017 and graduated from the program in 2020. Prior to joining Flatiron, Dr. Merkhofer was a former Assistant Professor in the Division of Medical Oncology at the University of Washington. She subspecialized in treating patients with thoracic and head and neck malignancies. She held a joint appointment with the Hutchinson Institute for Cancer Outcomes Research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.
Ali Khaki, MD
Dr. Khaki is a medical oncologist and clinical assistant professor at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Khaki was a former hematology and oncology fellow who started in 2019 and graduated from the program in 2020.
Evan Hall, MD, MPhil
Dr. Hall is an Assistant Professor at the University of Washington and an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. He's also a practicing medical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of skin cancers (including melanoma) and kidney cancer in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Hall graduated from the hematology and oncology fellowship program in 2019.
Zach Rivers, PharmD, PhD
Dr. Rivers is a Senior Manager of Health Economics and Outcomes Research at Tempus Labs. Dr. Rivers was a former BAYER post-doctoral research fellow who started in 2020 and graduated from the program in 2021.
