Director | Executive Committee | Internal Steering Committee
Dr. Cyrus Ghajar researches metastasis, or the spread of cancer cells to distant sites, and how the microenvironments of these sites (including bones) can put cancer cells to sleep – or wake them up.
He also directs the Laboratory for the Study of Metastatic Microenvironments (LSM2).
The internal steering committe is charged with: refining MET-X’s mission, ensuring the most promising pilot projects are funded, judging whether or not given pilot projects retain promise and deserve re-funding; and aiding in the development of strategic partnerships within and outside of the Fred Hutch.
