Fred Hutch’s imaging facility on Valley Street offers advanced MRI imaging services in a convenient outpatient setting designed for adult patients. Located only 500 feet from Sloan Clinic 2, this dedicated MRI site provides high-resolution scans that support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning across a wide range of cancers and conditions. With easy access and free patient parking, the Valley Street location ensures a comfortable and efficient experience for patients undergoing MRI imaging.
MRI imaging at Fred Hutch plays a critical role in diagnosing, staging, and monitoring treatment for many types of cancer. The Valley Street location supports a wide array of clinical needs, offering detailed anatomical views that help guide surgical planning, radiation therapy, and ongoing disease surveillance.
Appointment Information
MRI scans may be scheduled at either Valley Street Imaging or at our Sloan Clinic imaging locations. Please check your appointment details to verify your assigned MRI location.
Driving Directions
There are multiple transit construction projects planned in the South Lake Union neighborhood around the Fred Hutch campus. There will be work on the I-5 Ship Canal Bridge and Fairview Avenue North as part of the RapidRide J Line project, that will not be complete until 2027. We apologize for the inconvenience but please plan for extra travel time due to congestion caused by the construction.
- Take exit 167 for Mercer St./Seattle Center
- If you are northbound on I-5, you will exit I-5 from the far-left lane
- If you are southbound, you will exit I-5 from the far-right lane
- As you exit, move to the far-right lane
- Turn right at the end of the ramp onto Fairview Ave. N.
- Turn right at the light onto Valley St.
- Continue on Valley St. past Minor Ave. N.
- The Valley Street Imaging Clinic is the second building on the right after the intersection of Valley St. and Minor Ave. N.
- Turn right into the driveway
Patient parking is available at no charge next to the Valley Street Imaging Clinic.

- Exit onto I-5 north

- Head west on NE Pacific St. (This is the street that runs in front of UW Medical Center – Montlake, which is located at 1959 NE Pacific St.)
- Turn right onto 15th Ave. NE.
- Turn left onto NE Campus Pkwy
- Veer left on NE Campus Pkwy, pass through the tunnel, and cross the University Bridge. At this point, the street you are on becomes Eastlake Ave E.
- Follow Eastlake Ave E to Aloha St. (Do not bear right at Fairview Ave N.)
- Turn right onto Aloha St.
- Turn left onto Yale Ave. N.
- Travel one block on Yale Ave. N.
- Turn right onto Valley St. The Imaging building will be on your left in half a block.
- Turn left into the drive.
Patient parking is available at no charge next to the Valley Street Imaging Clinic.
Bicycle Parking
A bike rack is provided near the front entrance of the Valley Street Imaging building.
Remember to bring a lock to secure your bike.

Our free Fred Hutch shuttle runs between the Sloan Clinic and UW Medical Center – Montlake, Pete Gross House and the Behnke Family House.
