Fred Hutch and UW Medicine work together to provide cancer care at UW Medical Center – Northwest. Fred Hutch is an independent, nonprofit organization that serves as UW Medicine’s cancer program.
There are two locations at UW Medical Center – Northwest for patients receiving cancer care
- Fred Hutch at UW Medical Center – Northwest: Provides outpatient oncology treatment and supportive care services for adults.
- Inpatient Oncology Unit: This is a separate location within UW Medical Center – Northwest. It is primarily for patients with solid tumors and select lymphomas who need inpatient chemotherapy.

Your care may be provided by either Fred Hutch or UW Medical Center. Whereever you receive care, your treatment is based on standards developed and overseen by Fred Hutch.
Directions to Fred Hutch at UW Medical Center – Northwest
Fred Hutch at UW Medical Center – Northwest is in the Medical Office Building.
- Take exit 173 for Northgate Way/1st Ave. NE.
- Exit I-5 from the far right lane.
- Turn right onto N. Northgate Way.
- Beginning at step 6, follow the directions above.
Directions to Inpatient Oncology Unit at UW Medical Center – Northwest
The inpatient oncology unit is in the UW Medical Center – Northwest A-Wing building, which is in the main hospital building.
- Follow the directions above to reach the UW Medical Center – Northwest campus.
- From the main hospital entrance continue straight.
- After passing the Medical Office Building, follow the road as it curves to the left.
- The main hospital building will be on your right.
- Continue driving until you see the entrance to Lot H on your right. This is the closest parking lot to the A-Wing West Entrance. You can also park in Lot K or the parking garage.
- You can enter the A-Wing through the West entrance, or through the front entrance, which is near the Emergency Department.
- Take the elevator to the 4th floor of the A-Wing to enter the inpatient oncology unit.
Fred Hutch at UW Medical Center – Northwest: Parking is available in the lot next to the Medical Office Building. Immediately after passing through the entry gate, turn in to the first parking lot on your right labeled Medical Office Building. The ground floor entrance to the clinic faces this parking lot.
Inpatient oncology unit: Parking for inpatients and visitors is available in Lot H, Lot K and the parking garage. Lot K is the first lot on your left after you enter the Northwest campus. Follow the road as it curves to the left past the main hospital building, and Lot H will be on your right. The parking garage will be in front of you.
