Catch a Cure for Cancer, a collaboration of the Hutchinson Center and The Moyer Foundation, raised $236,000 in August for The Gregory Fund, which benefits the Center's early cancer detection research.

This year's fundraising events included:

  • A silent auction during the Aug. 14 Seattle Mariners baseball game
  • The KIRO-TV Mobile Tweetup on Aug. 17
  • The Brotherton Cadillac Celebrity Steak-Out dinner and auction on Aug. 21

The Steak-Out, held at Morton's The Steakhouse in Seattle, featured celebrity servers including former Seattle Seahawks stars Jacob Green and Dave Kreig, actress/author Josie Bissett, composer Mateo Messina, Loaded's bassist Jeff Rouse and Guns N' Roses guitarist Duff McKagan. The Center's Dr. Elizabeth Prescott, director for Corporate and Foundation Relations and a cancer survivor, also appeared and spoke at the event.

Baseball's Jamie Moyer and his wife, Karen, are co-founders of The Moyer Foundation.
