Register for comprehensive oncology CME Sept. 17-20

Course will aid participants’ preparation for the medical oncology certification or recertification exam and increase proficiency in management of patients with malignant disorders

Registration is now open for “Comprehensive Oncology Review,” an intensive, four-day review of the data supporting the management of patients with malignant hematologic and solid tumor disorders. The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, in conjunction with the Hutchinson Center and the University of Washington School of Medicine, will offer the continuing education course, Sept. 17-20, at W Hotel, 1112 Fourth Avenue in Seattle.

Intended audience

The course is designed to help physicians prepare for the medical oncology certification or recertification exam; it is also for physicians and allied health professions who desire an update in current standards of care for patients with cancer. Continuing medical education credit (commensurate with participation) is available for physicians through the UW Medicine.

Course Objectives

Participants will receive a comprehensive syllabus and the opportunity to partake in case-based question and answer sessions. They will leave with improved proficiency in management of patients with malignant disorders and be able to:

  • Describe the pathogenesis, diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic modalities available for common malignant hematological diseases
  • Describe the pathogenesis, diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic modalities available for common solid tumor malignancies
  • Integrate guideline-based treatments into personalized clinical practice appropriate for patients
  • Integrate new therapeutic and diagnostic approaches into clinical practice, as appropriate.
