The Hutchinson Center’s general fund will benefit from an innovative social media campaign that involves sending a Twitter message through a contest website.
Renton car dealership Brotherton Cadillac will award a 2010 Cadillac CTS to one fortunate Twitter user as a way to raise money for five nonprofits, including the Center.
To help the Center, tweet or re-tweet this phrase:
I support @HutchinsonCtr in @BroCadillac's #RaceForARide http://bit.ly/Race4Ride
Contest participants are encouraged to make a donation through the Race for a Ride website.
Tweet so that you might win
The Cadillac will be given away after one of the participating nonprofits raises $140,000 from the Race for a Ride website. Tweeters who sent the winning organization’s phrase will be entered into a drawing for the car. Contestants may tweet as many times as they wish.
The contest ends on Jan. 1, 2011, or when one of the nonprofits reaches the donation goal, whichever comes first. Other participating nonprofits are the Arthritis Foundation, The Moyer Foundation, Seattle Children’s and Special Olympics Washington.
All organizations will receive the donations made to their accounts on the Race for a Ride website at the end of the contest.
“This is a great opportunity for the Center,” said Jennifer Pawlosky, director of development marketing. “Not only will our general fund get a boost, the Center will also receive increased awareness via the social media network.”
Tweeting 101
If you don’t have a Twitter account, simply visit www.twitter.com, click on “Sign Up,” enter your name, select a user name, password, and e-mail. Then find friends who are on Twitter and follow them—including @HutchinsonCtr—and start tweeting.
Though the Cadillac is a great incentive for tweeting and giving to a favorite cause, donations aren’t required to enter the sweepstakes. Visit www.raceforaride.com for all terms, conditions and contest rules.
