The Hutchinson Center’s women’s cancer research programs just received a boost from Athena Partners. The nonprofit corporation, which sells bottled water and other products to raise funds for fighting cancer, donated more than $21,000 to support the Center’s microRNA research toward early detection of breast cancer.
The award ceremony took place Saturday, June 13, during the annual Rainier Challenge soccer tournament, a function of the Washington Premier Football Club (WPFC), one of the region’s largest youth soccer clubs.
The donation is the result of Athena Partners’ unique philanthropic partnership with the WPFC and local food service businesses, including Darigold and Sysco Foodservices of Seattle, in a yearlong community service initiative to help raise awareness and money for women’s cancers.
WPFC consists of more than 25 soccer teams with a total of more than 500 children.
Every dollar counts. Please support lifesaving research today.
