The 2009 Hutch Holiday Gala raised more than $9.7 million for the Hutchinson Center last December. In recognition of the total, Annisa Hickey, president of the Arnold Guild, presented a check to the Center last month.

The proceeds were partially funded through a $10 million challenge gift from the Bezos family to support immunotherapy research at the Center. The family chose to structure the gift as a challenge in the hope that it would encourage others in the community to join the cause. The gift is the family’s largest private donation to support biomedical research.

The Hutch Holiday Gala  is the single largest fundraiser benefiting the Center, raising more than $69 million over the past 34 years to support research at the Center.

Hosted by the Arnold Guild and the Hutch Holiday Gala Board of Directors, the Gala will celebrate 35 years on Dec. 4.
