About the AI/AN/NH Cancer Partnership
The American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian (AI/AN/NH) Cancer Partnership brings together community partners, Indian Health Service, Tribal, and Urban Indian (ITU) organizations, and National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer centers and their affiliates to strengthen cancer prevention and control.
Together, participants are identifying and developing community-informed research initiatives, programs, and clinical trials to prioritize in a national and regional strategic plan. This plan will guide partnerships and collaborative action to improve the experiences and outcomes of AI/AN/NH people and families throughout the cancer journey.
The AI/AN/NH Cancer Partnership’s first two years focused on shared learning, relationship-building, and identifying common priorities through monthly webinars and national meetings at Huntsman Cancer Institute in 2025 and UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center in 2026.
Building on that foundation, cancer centers and community partners are developing recommendations together before each topic-based webinar. These recommendations will be discussed and refined throughout the series to create a working draft of the national strategic plan before the 2027 National Meeting.
Fred Hutch’s Indigenous Cancer Health Excellence Initiative, within the Office of Community Outreach & Engagement, is coordinating the current webinar series and planning the 2027 National Meeting.

2026 – 2027 Monthly Webinar Series
Monthly webinars bring participants together to share knowledge, identify community priorities, and inform the AI/AN/NH Cancer Partnership’s national and regional strategic plan.
Webinars will generally be held through Zoom on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 12:00pm – 1:30pm PT | 3:00pm – 4:30pm ET, beginning in September 2026 and continuing through March 2027.

Prepare Recommendations
- Review the webinar topic and template submission deadline in the monthly schedule.
- Meet with your community partners to discuss priorities, strengths, challenges, and key issues.
- Complete a separate template for each recommendation associated with a key issue. Include proposed actions, the rationalie for those actions, and intended outcomes.
- Identify whether the recommendation is nationally relevant or requires a regional or community-specific approach.
Submit Your Templates
Submit completed templates through the form by the deadline listed for the corresponding webinar. Submission deadlines vary by session.
Come prepared to share your recommendations and participate in webinar discussions.
National AI/AN/NH Cancer Partnership Meeting
About the 2027 National Meeting
This third national meeting will include representatives from NCI-designated cancer centers, Tribes, Urban Indian Organizations, and Native Hawaiian organizations to finalize a community informed strategic plan to catalyze cancer control activities of special relevance to AI/AN/NH populations across the US.
The plan is intended to support future partnership and action between NCI-designated cancer centers and their affiliates, AI/AN/NH communities in their catchment areas, Indian Health Service, Tribes, Urban Indian Organizations, and Native Hawaiian organizations to improve the AI/AN/NH patient and family experience throughout the cancer journey.
