HutchCAN Student Program

HutchCAN: Hutch Career Awareness Network

Did you know there are many different careers that will let you be a part of Fred Hutch Cancer Center’s mission? Our HutchCAN program gives high school students a chance to learn about the many types of jobs at a major nonprofit cancer center.

HutchCAN is part of Hutch Advance, a larger program that works to help students learn about the wide range of careers at Fred Hutch.

Program Description

The Hutch Career Awareness Network (HutchCAN) is designed for 10-12th grade high school students.

The goal of the program is to give participants an overview of the wide range of careers at Fred Hutch and how each role is part of Fred Hutch’s mission to cure and prevent cancer and infectious disease.

Over eight weeks during the spring, students meet at Fred Hutch for weekly three-hour sessions. Students tour areas of Fred Hutch and talk to professionals from different career paths who play an important role in the work of the organization.

Careers may include: Nursing, public health scientist, pharmacist, dietitian, psychologist, genetic counselor, and oncologist.
