Thank you for your interest in the University of Washington/Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center Hematology‐Oncology Fellowship Program (ACGME #1555413151). The majority of our fellows elect to train for three years in both hematology and medical oncology, leading to board eligibility in both subspecialties; however, the program is flexible and will consider candidates who are seeking training in the separate subspecialties of either medical oncology or hematology. The program also offers training in the ABIM Research Pathway.
The application process can be complicated. To help, ERAS has provided Tools and Worksheets for Fellowship Applicants.
Diversity enriches training, scientific discovery and promotes the best healthcare. We are committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and a climate of belonging and respect for patients and their families, our students, trainees, faculty, and staff. We strive for diversity in race, culture, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender-identity, ability, and socioeconomic background.
Our program is committed to the recruitment of trainees from groups under-represented in medicine, those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and applicants with a demonstrated commitment to service, with the overall goal of fostering an inclusive and equitable environment.
As of June, 2023, we anticipate that our interviews will once again be online. Please expect interview days to start at 7:00 AM Pacific Time with an opening informational session, followed by a series of one-to-one interviews and breaks until noon. At that point we will have a brief Q&A if there is interest and then adjourn. Follow-up interviews and conversations may be scheduled for the afternoon depending on your areas of interest. The evening prior to your interview day there will be a social event with our current fellows. This will be an opportunity to ask questions, get to know our community, and hear more about why people chose to be here.
