Radiology

“I believe that imaging and image-guided procedures play a central role in quickly and accurately establishing a diagnosis, as well as assessing treatment efficacy over time. I enjoy working with a dedicated sub-specialty team to ensure appropriate patient-specific therapy in a timely fashion.”

— Dr. O'Malley

Why do you practice radiology?

Healthcare provides a unique opportunity to help and serve in a scientifically dynamic field. Cancer affects everyone and I want to be a part of the movement that continually strives to more effectively diagnose and treat patients with cancer. I hope to see imaging continue to evolve to allow earlier means of noninvasive diagnosis with resultant improvement in quality of life and survival. I also hope to see newer imaging techniques allow for increasingly precise ways of planning and assessing treatment response so that patients can truly receive individualized therapy. Outside of work, I enjoy playing and watching baseball, football, basketball; listening to music; baking and playing with my two daughters.

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.
