Hematology-Oncology

“You are the center of an amazing team that is focused on one goal: you.”

— Norene

What's it like working with you?

Years ago, a mentor taught me to always get to know my patients beyond their diagnosis. No one wants their disease to define who they are, and I want to get to know the real you — what excites you and what makes your life meaningful. Building a strong relationship allows me to provide you with the best, most individualized medical care. I will work to understand your values, goals and concerns, so I can help you make decisions and prepare for your treatment.

How do you help patients?

My favorite patient stories always involve laughter. I’m a firm believer in the power of humor, sarcasm and a thoughtfully placed joke. There is a time and place for everything, but I believe that humor can provide lightness during hard times and help restore hope. Together, we will work as a team, creating a warm experience for you while easing your fears and laughing as much as possible.

Provider Background

Area of Clinical Practice
Adult blood and marrow transplantation, immunotherapy

During my clinical training, I was able to spend one of my rotations with the Fred Hutch Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) team. I enjoy making meaningful patient connections and was immediately drawn to the team’s focus on building strong relationships with every patient, as well as the dynamic complexity and detail-oriented nature of transplant medicine. The BMT patients I cared for left a lasting impact on me, which ultimately brought me back to this specialty.

Clinical Trials

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.

Your Care Team

At Fred Hutch, you receive care from a team of providers with extensive experience in your disease. Your team includes physicians, a patient care coordinator, a registered nurse, an advanced practice provider and others, based on your needs. You also have access to experts like registered dietitians, social workers, acupuncturists, psychiatrists and more who specialize in supporting people with cancer or blood disorders.

Insurance

Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
