Medical Oncology

“Cancer is life-changing. Helping patients feel like themselves, even for a moment, is incredibly meaningful.”

— Megan

Do you have personal experience with cancer?

My mom had cancer, and watching her navigate everything shaped how I care for patients. It reminded me how personal and unique each person’s cancer experience can be. I want to meet people where they are by being a good listener, answering every question — no matter how big or small — and creating a space where they feel safe and supported.

How do you approach providing patient care?

Building strong relationships with people based on trust, respect and open communication is important to me. I strive to educate patients in a way that empowers them to make the best decisions for their health. My goal is to support each person every step of the way.

My favorite memories from working with a patient are the inside jokes we shared and how we always laughed when we saw each other. It is special to find a balance between joy and the serious conversations that come with treatment.

Provider Background

Area of Clinical Practice
Breast oncology

I am a certified physician assistant who sees patients at the Sloan Clinic.

I have always been drawn to the personal connections that come with caring for patients. It’s a privilege to support people during some of the most challenging moments of their lives, and I truly value the trust placed in me. I am also inspired by the dynamic and complex field of breast oncology. There’s always more to learn, and I’m committed to staying up-to-date so I can provide the best possible care. For me, it’s about combining compassion with knowledge to make a meaningful difference.

Clinical Trials

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.

Your Care Team

At Fred Hutch, you receive care from a team of providers with extensive experience in your disease. Your team includes physicians, a patient care coordinator, a registered nurse, an advanced practice provider and others, based on your needs. You also have access to experts like registered dietitians, social workers, acupuncturists, psychiatrists and more who specialize in supporting people with cancer or blood disorders.

Insurance

Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
