Medical Oncology

“I think it's important to tailor every interaction to each patient and to intentionally listen to each person. The more information I have, the better I can care for you.”

— Madison

What brought you to oncology?

I have been passionate about oncology since I learned about the cellular mechanisms of cancer in college. Since then, I have studied oncology through medical and public health lenses. This holistic education has given me many different perspectives on cancer treatment and has increased my desire to treat patients with the most up-to-date, evidence-based medicine. I also strive to help patients make well-informed decisions by making sure they have all the information they need.

Do you have any favorite memories of time spent with patients?

I worked at an assisted living facility as a certified nursing assistant and developed deep connections with people there. Learning what residents enjoyed and then spending time doing their favorite activities, such as listening to music or chatting about their family and children, are some of my favorite things to remember.
