Hematology-Oncology

Medical Oncology

“I am here to support you and your family through treatment at every step, and to partner with you to help you achieve the outcomes you determine are most important.”

— Jessica

What do you hope it’s like for a patient to be in your care?

My first instinct when meeting someone new is to listen to their past experiences, concerns and questions without judgment so we can build a relationship rooted in mutual respect. I want to understand who people are, what values they hold and what is important to them and their family as we navigate a cancer diagnosis. It's my job to share my expertise and guide patients so they can make informed choices that align with their treatment goals. Building relationships with patients during their time of need is an honor.

What brought you to oncology?

Several members of my family have had cancer, and I cared for my grandmother during advanced pancreatic cancer. These personal experiences of being the concerned loved one and caregiver gave me a unique perspective that I take into my interactions with patients and their families. I hope to be the kind of provider who keeps patients and their family members informed, supports everyone through tough decisions, and treats patients like whole, unique people who also happen to have cancer.

Provider Background

Area of Clinical Practice
Immunotherapy, medical oncology

I am an advanced registered nurse practitioner who sees patients at Fred Hutch at UW Medical Center - Montlake.

Immunotherapy is a constantly evolving treatment modality that is breaking down barriers and offering new and better options to patients. I enjoy working on a team that harnesses the latest science to give patients the best possible opportunities and outcomes when managing their disease.

I take care of patients who are admitted to the hospital for inpatient treatments or complications related to their cancer. Working in a hospital setting allows me to combine my expertise in acute care, internal medicine and oncology to support patients and their families through some of their most physically and mentally challenging times.

Clinical Trials

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.

Your Care Team

At Fred Hutch, you receive care from a team of providers with extensive experience in your disease. Your team includes physicians, a patient care coordinator, a registered nurse, an advanced practice provider and others, based on your needs. You also have access to experts like registered dietitians, social workers, acupuncturists, psychiatrists and more who specialize in supporting people with cancer or blood disorders.

Insurance

Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
