Why do you practice oncology?
I decided to work in healthcare to work in a service industry with a science focus but also a real human element. Oncology is always changing and evolving. Cancer patients are often inspiring in their resolve and resilience. I participate in various clinical trials, primarily treating with colorectal cancers at Fred Hutch at EvergreenHealth. In the future, I hope to see more targeted therapy and effective immunotherapy options available for our patients. Outside of the clinic, I enjoy playing and listening to music as well as getting out on Lake Washington.

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch doctors. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your doctor can decide if a study is right for you.

Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
