Medical Oncology

“An honest and trusting relationship is key to excellent care and the best possible outcomes. I strive to provide each patient with supportive and holistic care on a foundation of empathy, respect and dignity.”

— Fidela

How has cancer personally impacted you?

Several family members and close friends have battled cancer. Treating cancer is a unique experience for each person and their loved ones, and there is rarely only one way to approach it. I deeply admire the strength and resilience of those navigating cancer, who in turn inspire me to provide the best possible care.

Do you have a favorite memory from working with patients you’d like to share?

I am always grateful for patients trusting me to walk alongside them, especially since cancer treatment can be a vulnerable and challenging time in their lives. Some of my favorite memories with my patients include sharing simple laughs and deep conversations during the ups and downs.

Provider Background

Area of Clinical Practice
Medical oncology

I am an advanced registered nurse practitioner who sees patients at Fred Hutch at EvergreenHealth.

My first experience with cancer care was when I worked as a blood and marrow transplant nurse, and it has always been a meaningful part of my career. As a nurse practitioner, I previously worked in primary care, urgent care and women's health.

Community Oncology

Our mission is to provide patients with the highest quality, personalized care closer to home. As part of Fred Hutch, our community oncologists offer patients multidisciplinary tumor board opinions, clinical trials and expertise in treating a variety of cancers.

Clinical Trials

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.

Your Care Team

At Fred Hutch, you receive care from a team of providers with extensive experience in your disease. Your team includes physicians, a patient care coordinator, a registered nurse, an advanced practice provider and others, based on your needs. You also have access to experts like registered dietitians, social workers, acupuncturists, psychiatrists and more who specialize in supporting people with cancer or blood disorders.

Insurance

Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
