Gynecologic Oncology

"I believe in building a strong foundation with patients, so we can create a treatment plan they can have confidence in that will both help them and give them a greater understanding of their health and condition."

 - Arlene

What brought you to gynecologic oncology?

I have always had a keen interest in women's health and wanted to continue developing a deeper understanding of women’s health care, especially when it comes to cancer.

What brought you to Fred Hutch?

I received my education at UW School of Medicine, and I look forward to continuing my work and education with colleagues at Fred Hutch and UW Medicine.

I was born at UW Medical Center. Having grown up here in Seattle, I know the treasures our city and its community possess: the art, music, education and outdoor activities, from the mountains to the sea. It was a wonderful place to grow up, and I've never wanted to leave.

Clinical Trials

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch providers. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your provider can decide if a study is right for you.

Your Care Team

At Fred Hutch, you receive care from a team of providers with extensive experience in your disease. Your team includes providers, a patient care coordinator, a registered nurse, an advanced practice provider and others, based on your needs. You also have access to experts like registered dieticians, social workers, acupuncturists, psychiatrists and more who specialize in supporting people with cancer or blood disorders.

Insurance

Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
