Radiology

“I believe that our collaborative approach results in excellent patient care.”

— Dr. Ha

What drew you to musculoskeletal radiology?

My mother shared her love of art with me starting when I was a small child. She often took me to museums, and I took art lessons, which led to a long-standing interest in art and art history. I have always been fascinated by human anatomy, so when it came time to choose a medical specialty, I was drawn to the complicated anatomical components of radiology. I find the body to be really beautiful, but it can be painful when it is not working properly. I love working with the intricate muscles and tendons in the body and am intrigued by our ability to improve bodily function with medicine. I find this field fascinating and challenging every day.

What do you think patients and families appreciate about working with you?

My mom has had a lot of health issues over the years, which has given me the unique perspective of understanding how it feels to be the patient. I know this can be a time of anxiety, so I will be very straightforward with you, explaining everything in a way that you can understand. My practice is based on the “is it good enough for my mother” test; if we aren’t providing you care that is good enough for our own mothers, then we aren’t doing things right. I’ll give that level of service to you, regardless of how minor or big the issue may be, because I value my time with you.

Provider Background

Area of Clinical Practice
Musculoskeletal radiology

I am a musculoskeletal radiologist, and my clinical interests focus on the use of digital musculoskeletal imaging. When I am not seeing patients, I conduct research on musculoskeletal radiology diagnostics, ultrasound, post-traumatic radiology and interventional procedures such as joint injections and bone biopsies.

At UW Medicine, I am a professor of radiology; I also serve as the associate director of the Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship program and as the director of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound.

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.
