About

Dr. Blossom Raychaudhuri is a board-certified physician and researcher at Fred Hutch. She specializes in blood cancers and focuses on bringing the latest research directly into patient care.

Background

Dr. Raychaudhuri is a hematologist-oncologist who treats patients with blood cancers. She cares for people with complex cases and works to ensure that advances in research are translated to the front line of care, where they can most directly benefit patients.

Her research focuses on the development of clinical trials for novel treatments and prognostic strategies for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). She has experience designing and conducting both Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials for patients with relapsed or refractory AML and MDS.

Dr. Raychaudhuri previously served as chief fellow in the Fred Hutch/University of Washington Hematology Oncology Fellowship Program, reflecting her commitment to both research and education. She was a 2026 recipient of the American Society of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award for a clinical trial testing the immune-targeting drug axatilimab along with CLAG-M, a combination chemotherapy commonly used for relapsed or refractory AML (R/R AML).

Area of Clinical Practice
Malignant hematology

“What drew me to medicine are the relationships I form with patients and the difference we can make through research.”

— Dr. Raychaudhuri

What brought you to oncology?

The biggest driving factors that brought me to oncology were the relationships I had with patients with leukemia during my early training. I am also motivated by the desire to focus on the gaps that still exist in leukemia treatment and how research can contribute to addressing them. I credit a lot of this motivation to the mentorship I have had in my clinical research training.

What do you hope it’s like for a patient to work with you?

I hope patients find me to be someone they can trust and who will be honest with them throughout the whole experience. My goal is to be a doctor they can rely on and who can determine a path forward.

Clinical Trials

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians and researchers. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.
