The Breast Specimen Repository and Registry received a gift of more than $73,000 from the Grand Chapter of Washington — Order of the Eastern Star earlier this year.

The repository collects and stores tissue and blood specimens from consented patients undergoing surgery for breast cancer or reduction mammoplasties. These samples are made available to Fred Hutchinson/University of Washington Cancer Consortium researchers to enhance ongoing research projects and enable new avenues of inquiry.
