Fred Hutch’s Specimen Processing & Research Cell Bank shared resource provides investigators with high-quality biospecimen sample processing, extraction and biorepository services. The core formed in 2015 from the merger of two longstanding Fred Hutch research resources that have played key roles in decades of research studies. We offer our depth of expertise to researchers in the Fred Hutch/University of Washington Cancer Consortium and those from institutions around the world to advance their preclinical and clinical studies.
Our specimen processing team offers dedicated laboratory support to large population-based studies, with a strong emphasis on quality control. We develop and validate procedures for specimen processing analyses and process samples of blood, urine, buccal tissues and peripheral blood mononuclear cells.
Our Research Cell Bank contains three biorepositories: the Brain Tumor Resource Laboratory, the International Histocompatibility Work Group Biorepository and the Hematopoietic Cell Therapy Research Cell Bank. The team also provides customizable biospecimen processing services.
We work with each investigator to meet the unique needs of their studies. Our goal: to do our part in the development of new treatments that save lives from cancer and related diseases.
