Radiology

“I care deeply about the people behind the images I interpret, even if we never meet in person. I approach every case with the same level of attention and dedication as I have for my own family.”

— Dr. Ng

Do you have personal experience with cancer? Do you have any stories to share?

My interest in radiology and cancer diagnostics began when my mother was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer at the young age of 41. Her successful treatment was my first exposure to oncology and left a lasting impression on me. It sparked a deep curiosity about the technologies used to diagnose and treat cancer, influencing my decision to pursue a career in radiology. That early experience continues to shape my commitment to advancing cancer care through imaging.

I once performed an image-guided biopsy on a young patient who was initially very anxious. I was able to build rapport with her quickly, and throughout the procedure, the entire team engaged her in conversation to help take her mind off what was happening. In her words, the experience felt painless and even pleasant. Her mother, who was present in the procedure room the entire time, witnessed the interaction. Afterward, she filled out a feedback card praising the professionalism and bedside manner of the procedural team. I was genuinely flattered to receive such kind comments.

What brought you to abdominal imaging and what do you value about your work?

I appreciate the complexity and diversity of abdominal pathology, and I value collaborating closely with other clinicians to play a meaningful role in patient care. I’m drawn to the dynamic nature of this subspecialty and the variety it brings, including interpreting advanced imaging studies, performing image-guided procedures or staying current with evolving technologies like contrast-enhanced ultrasound and quantitative imaging.

I am committed to providing accurate, thoughtful interpretations because I understand how much patients and their care teams rely on imaging to make important decisions.
