Hematology-Oncology

“I love working with people and believe every patient deserves to feel heard, informed and respected.”

— Tivian

How have you been personally impacted by cancer?

A loved one has faced cancer, and this gave me insight into the emotional and physical challenges of the experience. Watching their resilience and the impact of compassionate care from their health care team deeply influenced my approach to patient care. It taught me the importance of empathy, clear communication and providing strong support for both patients and their families through every stage of treatment and recovery.

How do you approach providing care to patients?

My approach is centered on shared decision-making whenever possible and making sure patients feel supported. I aim to work together to find the best path forward for each patient’s health and well-being. My favorite parts of working with patients are the moments when we connect over the ups and downs of life. Witnessing each person’s improvement is incredibly fulfilling and reminds me of the profound impact we can have together. Each patient's progress not only brings me joy but also reinforces the importance of compassion throughout the healing process.

Provider Background

Area of Clinical Practice
Medical oncology

I am an advanced registered nurse practitioner who sees patients at Fred Hutch at EvergreenHealth.

Growing up in an immigrant family, I witnessed the challenges of navigating and accessing health care, which inspired me to become a provider who empowers patients throughout their experience. Working in a community setting allows me to give back by providing compassionate, culturally sensitive care to my neighbors and building meaningful relationships that support health and well-being.

Community Oncology

Our mission is to provide patients with the highest quality, personalized care closer to home. As part of Fred Hutch, our community oncologists offer patients multidisciplinary tumor board opinions, clinical trials and expertise in treating a variety of cancers.

Clinical Trials

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.

Your Care Team

At Fred Hutch, you receive care from a team of providers with extensive experience in your disease. Your team includes physicians, a patient care coordinator, a registered nurse, an advanced practice provider and others, based on your needs. You also have access to experts like registered dietitians, social workers, acupuncturists, psychiatrists and more who specialize in supporting people with cancer or blood disorders.

Insurance

Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
