Hematology-Oncology

Medical Oncology

“I don’t see patients as only a diagnosis. I am seeing you as a whole person and I want to do the best I can to make your day better.”

— Parisa

What brought you to oncology and the acute clinical evaluation team?

I enjoy working directly with patients and talking with them while also having a good team of coworkers to continue our professional practice. I appreciate caring for patients in their most vulnerable times as an acute clinical evaluation provider. I feel it allows me to work in a capacity that realizes my full potential as a nurse practitioner.

What do you hope it’s like for a patient to work with you?

I hope patients can see that I have compassion for them and what they're going through, and I care about them and their well-being. I also hope our relationship is collaborative and patient-focused, and that they see me as someone they can trust and be honest with. No one wants to be in the hospital and here we are as health care professionals seeing patients during very challenging times. I want to do the best I can to make a difference for patients, whatever that may be.

Clinical Trials

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.

Your Care Team

At Fred Hutch, you receive care from a team of providers with extensive experience in your disease. Your team includes physicians, a patient care coordinator, a registered nurse, an advanced practice provider and others, based on your needs. You also have access to experts like registered dietitians, social workers, acupuncturists, psychiatrists and more who specialize in supporting people with cancer or blood disorders.

Insurance

Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
