Hematology

“I believe in compassionate and comprehensive care in close partnership with patients and their families.”

— Nancy Kang, MSN, ARNP, FNP-C

What drives you as a provider?

I find it immensely meaningful to have the privilege of forming therapeutic relationships and supporting patients and their families in navigating and addressing their health concerns and needs. It is rewarding when we are able to work together to find the right piece of the puzzle that fits, and see improvement and healing occur over time. I enjoy my work because I have the opportunity to continually learn and expand my knowledge each day, and am grateful to work with very kind and talented colleagues at Fred Hutch and UW Medicine.

What is your approach to providing care?

I am inquisitive and approach each patient with curiosity to try and fully understand the whole picture of what is going on. I listen to my patients’ personal health goals, and provide open and honest communication in a personalized manner to help each patient make informed decisions. It is important to me that my patients feel their questions and concerns are acknowledged and addressed as much as possible.

Clinical Trials

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.

Your Care Team

At Fred Hutch, you receive care from a team of providers with extensive experience in your disease. Your team includes physicians, a patient care coordinator, a registered nurse, an advanced practice provider and others, based on your needs. You also have access to experts like registered dietitians, social workers, acupuncturists, psychiatrists and more who specialize in supporting people with cancer or blood disorders.

Insurance

Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
