Medical Oncology

“I prioritize clear communication, active listening and creating a safe space for open dialogue. My goal is to empower and support you throughout your experience.”

— Laura

What brought you to oncology?

I chose to specialize in oncology because of the resilience, courage and hope I witness in my patients. Being part of a team that advances cancer care while supporting individuals through some of the most challenging moments in their lives is a privilege.

I am committed to being a lifelong learner, continuously expanding my knowledge and skills to provide the best possible care. I genuinely care about and value each person’s well-being. Creating an environment where everyone feels heard, respected and supported is important to me.

How have you been personally affected by cancer?

Witnessing a loved one’s cancer experience gave me an understanding of the physical, emotional and psychological challenges faced by both patients and their families. This experience taught me the importance of seeing beyond the diagnosis and strengthened my commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Clinical Trials

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.

Your Care Team

At Fred Hutch, you receive care from a team of providers with extensive experience in your disease. Your team includes physicians, a patient care coordinator, a registered nurse, an advanced practice provider and others, based on your needs. You also have access to experts like registered dietitians, social workers, acupuncturists, psychiatrists and more who specialize in supporting people with cancer or blood disorders.

Insurance

Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
