“My goal is to help you through this experience, day by day.”

— Kristin

Describe your journey to oncology.

When my grandmother was diagnosed with lung cancer, it was a really difficult time for my family, but I was impressed with the medical staff who took care of her. Years later, I ended up working in a lab focused on leukemia research, studying the basic science of hematopoietic stem cells (immature cells that can become any kind of blood cell). I’ve always been interested in science and health, so I enjoyed the work, but I realized that something was missing: working directly with patients. Moving from the lab to the bedside was a better fit for my personality; I feel I’ve been able to contribute more in this setting.

What's it like to work with you?

My primary purpose is to address your medical issues while also supporting you through diagnosis and treatment. Open communication is essential to a successful partnership. I’m interested in learning about who you are, your goals and expectations for treatment, and what priorities you would like to set. I hope that you’ll feel comfortable coming to me with questions, symptoms that trouble you — big or small — and any concerns you have about treatment.

Provider Background

I am an advanced registered nurse practitioner who specializes in caring for patients with blood cancers. My clinical expertise spans performing procedures such as bone marrow biopsies, managing side effects and treatment toxicity issues and interpreting diagnostic tests, among many other services. With more than 10 years of experience in hematology-oncology, I’m attuned to ongoing research in the field and always looking for ways to incorporate the latest advances into my practice.
