Gynecologic Oncology

“I have experienced cancer care from the perspective of a family member and understand that it is so much more than treating a disease. It’s about supporting families, building trust and walking alongside people in moments of profound vulnerability. It’s about balancing the latest science with humanity and empathy.”

— Dr. Rodriguez

What brought you to gynecologic oncology?

This specialty allows me to care for the whole patient through every stage. The science is rapidly evolving, and I’m driven by the opportunity to apply new research, genetics and targeted therapies to make a difference.

I’m passionate about not only providing the best possible treatment, but also about empowering patients to understand their cancer, including risks and options. My background in research, genetics and cancer prevention fuels my work every day. I’m dedicated to making sure patients have access to the most advanced, personalized treatments available.

Above all, I want patients to know I’m on their team every step of the way.

How do you approach providing patient care?

I see patient care as a partnership built on trust and shared decision-making. Every patient deserves to feel heard and supported. I take time to explain complex information in a way that’s clear and meaningful for each person. Understanding your cancer and the reason behind each decision is empowering. I want to offer people the very best options available while also being the kind of doctor who truly listens, explains and stands with patients through it all.

I always put each patient’s goals and values at the center of the care plan we build together. My hope is that every patient leaves our visits feeling informed, cared for and confident we’re doing everything possible to support their health and well-being.
