Medical Oncology
After my aunt had pancreatic cancer, I realized cancer care reaches beyond the patient. Family members and loved ones devote a lot of time and emotion to the treatment process. I believe cancer care should not only focus on the patient, but also extend to the family members who are there for their loved one, and this is how I approach every interaction.
Because we serve patients from a wide geographic area, we help manage the care of a wide range of people with conditions that are simple to complex. With the experience of our team members and our resources combined with our devotion to treating cancer, I think Fred Hutch offers an incredible opportunity for patients to beat their condition.
Area of Clinical Practice
Orthopedic surgery, orthopedic oncology
I am a physician who sees patients at Fred Hutch at UW Medical Center – Montlake and Seattle Children’s.
One of my first interactions with a patient with cancer was a person who had osteosarcoma. This piqued my interest in cancer care. I have conducted research on osteosarcoma and its effects on the gut microbiome in mice. I hope to advance this research further to discover its effects on the human gut microbiome and see if we can find tumor markers that help tailor treatments for osteosarcoma patients.
