Hematology-Oncology

“I want patients to feel empowered and respected while receiving care — like they are the most important members of their health care team.”

— Arani

What do you value about your work?

I appreciate getting to know patients and their backgrounds, and I believe in providing culturally sensitive, compassionate, individualized care to each person.

I value learning from patients, and I believe they can teach me just as much as I can teach them. When I look back over my career, memories that come to mind are conversations I have had with patients where we were able to chat about their lives and I got to know them on a deeper level to build a meaningful connection. I have met many patients who have made an impact on my life. This is one of my favorite parts of the job.

What do you hope it’s like for a patient to work with you, and what brought you to Fred Hutch?

I see myself as an advocate for patients and their families and consider it an honor to do so. My goal is to make sure I am doing the best job I can for each patient. I strive to be as knowledgeable as I can be as a provider and am always seeking to improve myself and learn more.

I chose to join Fred Hutch because everyone who works here also truly cares about patients and supports each other to be the best they can be.

Clinical Trials

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.

Your Care Team

At Fred Hutch, you receive care from a team of providers with extensive experience in your disease. Your team includes physicians, a patient care coordinator, a registered nurse, an advanced practice provider and others, based on your needs. You also have access to experts like registered dietitians, social workers, acupuncturists, psychiatrists and more who specialize in supporting people with cancer or blood disorders.

Insurance

Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
