Medical Oncology

“I like to offer patients individualized, personalized care. Each person’s circumstances are unique.”

— Dr. Chang

What do you hope it’s like for a patient to work with you?

Care should be a collaborative effort tailored to each person’s goals while incorporating evidence-based data. The best care improves outcomes and prioritizes quality of life.

Do you have a favorite memory of working with patients you’d like to share?

I love getting to know patients and their families, and forming relationships is meaningful to me. One patient of mine was a musician, and he invited me to a charity concert he held. It was an inspiring experience watching him play guitar and sing — doing what he loved best and enjoying every bit of his life, even though he’d had chemotherapy just a few days before.

Provider Background

Area of Clinical Practice
Gastrointestinal oncology, breast oncology

I am a physician who sees patients at Fred Hutch at EvergreenHealth.

Gastrointestinal and breast oncology both have great potential and need for treatment options with better outcomes and less toxicity. I have also conducted research looking for methods to decrease resistance to chemotherapy in pancreatic cancer.

Community Oncology

Our mission is to provide patients with the highest quality, personalized care closer to home. As part of Fred Hutch, our community oncologists offer patients multidisciplinary tumor board opinions, clinical trials and expertise in treating a variety of cancers.
