What do you want patients to know about you?

I went into medicine to apply my love of science in a way that has a meaningful impact on people's lives, both through patient care and by advancing the field through research. In addition to patient care, I am also involved in research that focuses on improving the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infections for people with cancer, transplants, and weakened immune systems. 

What is your approach to caring for a patient?

I take a thorough, thoughtful and patient-centered approach to clinical care. Developing a partnership with my patients to understand their goals forms the foundation of my practice. I then incorporate the latest research and best practices in treating infections into an individual care plan. I feel privileged to work collaboratively with patients, caregivers and the multidisciplinary care teams at Fred Hutch to develop a treatment approach tailored to each patient's goals.
