I am a physician assistant in Dermatology Oncology, working closely with three physicians in highly collaborative care teams. I’m here to help your family through the treatment process. It’s also my job to be a bridge between the research team and clinical team, so I dedicate about a quarter of my time to working in the laboratory. I’ve always been science oriented. And I’ve always had an interest in dermatology, especially skin cancers and emerging treatments.
You and I will be in close communication throughout your treatment, which may be a combination of traditional treatments and clinical trials. I really enjoy spending time with my patients and am thrilled when you’re excited to be actively involved in your care. It’s so rewarding caring for Fred Hutch patients. Witnessing your humility and gratitude really puts everything into perspective for me.
Skin cancers
I work closely with Dr. Paul Nghiem both in his lab and in the clinic, providing care to patients with Merkel cell carcinoma. I also work with Dr. Jennifer Gardner, who sees patients with cutaneous melanoma. We do see other skin cancers as well, generally skin cancers that develop as a result or side effect of other cancer therapies. We also see patients to evaluate and treat skin side effects related to cancer treatments.
Cutaneous lymphoma
I work closely with Dr. Michi Shinohara, specializing in treating cutaneous lymphomas as well as managing cutaneous side effects related to cancer therapies. It is exhilarating to be part of such a wonderful supportive team. I’m a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Currently, I’m working on completing the dermatology diplomate fellowship program offered through the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch doctors. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your doctor can decide if a study is right for you.
At Fred Hutch, you receive care from a team of providers with extensive experience in your disease. Your team includes doctors, a patient care coordinator, a registered nurse, an advanced practice provider and others, based on your needs. You also have access to experts like nutritionists, social workers, acupuncturists, psychiatrists and more who specialize in supporting people with cancer or blood disorders.
Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
The Media Relations team at Fred Hutch is available to assist members of the news media who would like to arrange interviews with providers.
