Hematology-Oncology

“The impact of a caring and attentive team is immeasurable, and these connections often stay with patients and families long after treatment is over.”

— Amanda

How has your personal experience with cancer impacted how you provide care?

Cancer touches nearly everyone in some capacity. Like most people, I know someone who has been affected by cancer and understand that the experience is often long, complex and filled with physical, emotional and psychological challenges. I also know a patient’s care team can make an extraordinary difference. We can offer more than treatment — we can provide hope, support and compassion.

What do you hope it’s like for a patient to work with you?

I focus on seeing each patient as a whole person, not as their diagnosis. I listen closely to their concerns, needs and values to make sure they are fully incorporated into their treatment plan. Through open communication and prioritizing each patient’s emotional and physical well-being, I aim to create a plan that respects their dignity and enhances their quality of life.

Provider Background

Area of Clinical Practice
Acute care oncology, acute clinical evaluation

I am an advanced registered nurse practitioner who sees patients at the South Lake Union Clinic and Fred Hutch at UW Medical Center – Montlake.

I enjoy the challenge of oncology blended with evaluating patients who have acute medical conditions. I appreciate helping others feel better during what can be stressful situations. My previous experience in malignant hematology inspired my passion for cancer care. I am deeply committed to promoting quality of life and making sure each patient feels heard and understood.

Clinical Trials

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.

Your Care Team

At Fred Hutch, you receive care from a team of providers with extensive experience in your disease. Your team includes physicians, a patient care coordinator, a registered nurse, an advanced practice provider and others, based on your needs. You also have access to experts like registered dietitians, social workers, acupuncturists, psychiatrists and more who specialize in supporting people with cancer or blood disorders.

Insurance

Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
