Medical Oncology
I want patients to feel safe and that they are in good hands. Every patient is a person who has a disease.
People here really care about our patients and about every person who works and practices medicine here. This makes for a strong team to provide the best patient care. I was drawn to this role for this reason.
There are few jobs where a person can have such a direct impact on people and be by someone’s side while they go through something challenging. I don’t know what else I could do that would give me the same amount of connection. I think oncology is also unique because it’s always innovating and evolving — there are always procedures, treatments and protocols that are changing, and we have to be on our toes to keep up and provide the best care.
Area of Clinical Practice
Acute care oncology
I am an advanced registered nurse practitioner who sees patients at the South Lake Union Clinic.
I see patients in the ACE clinic, or Acute Clinical Evaluation clinic. We are an acute care team that functions as an urgent care for patients at Fred Hutch. We see patients for acute and urgent concerns, working with their primary teams to provide better same day access to help keep patients out of the emergency room.

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.
At Fred Hutch, you receive care from a team of providers with extensive experience in your disease. Your team includes physicians, a patient care coordinator, a registered nurse, an advanced practice provider and others, based on your needs. You also have access to experts like registered dietitians, social workers, acupuncturists, psychiatrists and more who specialize in supporting people with cancer or blood disorders.
Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
The Media Relations team at Fred Hutch is available to assist members of the news media who would like to arrange interviews with providers.
