Background

Dr. Barbra Richardson is a biostatistician who specializes in methods to analyze data from clinical trials and observational studies involving HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases. Her projects include developing methods for analyzing vaginal microbiome data to assess risk factors for acquisition of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. As a member of SCHARP, the Statistical Center for HIV/AIDS Research and Prevention, she is the lead statistician on studies to evaluate microbicides, which are preventive agents for the sexual transmission of HIV-1.
