What would you like patients to know about you?

I find joy in helping patients and want you to get the best care possible. I will work with you to assess your cancer risk and then help you make decisions about options to reduce risk and make choices for screening.

One of my favorite memories is of a patient who reached out to let me know she was doing well after her cancer surgery. Hearing that she was healing and moving forward meant so much to me. She had met with me due to a family history of breast cancer and at the time opted not to pursue genetic testing, but I encouraged her to seek a screening breast MRI given her estimated lifetime risk. She was reluctant, but after understanding the risks and benefits decided to have the imaging. That MRI detected an abnormality that was identified as cancer on subsequent biopsy. This early detection helped her avoid chemotherapy and she was happy to report she was doing well. She sent me a note expressing appreciation I had helped her decide to get the imaging and I think we were both very thankful that she had.

What brought you to oncology?

I am driven to help patients and I really enjoy assisting families. Genetics is such an exciting and evolving field. Understanding genetic cancer risk may help identify preventive and risk-reduction measures as well as monitoring that can result in early detection and improved outcomes. I am grateful and honored to be a part of your care.

Clinical Trials

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.

Your Care Team

At Fred Hutch, you receive care from a team of providers with extensive experience in your disease. Your team includes physicians, a patient care coordinator, a registered nurse, an advanced practice provider and others, based on your needs. You also have access to experts like registered dietitians, social workers, acupuncturists, psychiatrists and more who specialize in supporting people with cancer or blood disorders.

Insurance

Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
