The following letter was sent via postal mail to our current patients in November
To our valued community,
Earlier this year, we announced the exciting news that Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center came together as a single, unified organization called Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. This unified approach expands patient access to clinical trials and to knowledge about options that may be available in the future.
What this means for you
You will continue receiving the superior care you have come to expect with the same providers you see now. Your care team will not change. Now that our organizations are united, world-class researchers will be working even more closely with your care teams and sharing knowledge about the latest treatments available.
In October, we started using the new Fred Hutch logo on our websites and social media channels, on MyChart, in advertising, and in and around our facilities. Over the coming year you will start seeing it on our buildings.
Strengthening our existing partnerships
In addition to creating tighter connections between our care teams and our researchers, we’ve also strengthened our relationship with UW Medicine.
While Fred Hutch is an independent, nonprofit organization, we have entered into an agreement with UW Medicine to serve as the adult cancer care provider for their patients. This relationship allows for enhanced care coordination between a top cancer center, Fred Hutch, and one of the world’s leading integrated health systems, UW Medicine.
Our patients always come first, and we thank you for trusting us with your care. We are excited for what these changes will mean for our patients and the future of cancer care and research in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
Sincerely,
