Anne-Cecile Porter, MDiv.

I joined Fred Hutch in June 2026 and am originally from France, where I grew up and lived and worked as a lawyer until a call for ministry found me.

I studied at the Faculté de Théologie in Paris, then was invited for two years at the Presbyterian seminary, the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. There, I met Irvin, a fellow student and we were married after graduation.

After being ordained in the Presbyterian church here in the U.S., I gained experience providing care in hospital settings and with hospice patients. I also worked in a large church, coordinating the spiritual formation of the congregation.

Outside of work, I enjoy sharing time with Irvin and our two cocker spaniels. I also find joy in creative writing, baking and cooking exotic food.

Patient Care Philosophy

When I meet with patients, I’m honored by their trust when they share what they are going through and reminisce about their lives. It provides me with a sense of humility and wonder. Those sacred moments have enriched my spiritual life and the calling I’ve always felt. I’m here to listen to others and walk with them as they go through their journey, offering a warm, non-judgmental space where they can reflect on the meaning of their lives and the obstacles they face.
