Seattle Magazine Names 58 Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Top Doctors

SEATTLE — March 20, 2018 — Physicians from SCCA’s three world-class partner organizations — Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle Children’s and UW Medicine — as well as two of its clinical care sites, a medical oncology clinic at EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, Washington and the medical and radiation oncology clinics at UW Medicine/Northwest Hospital & Medical Center, appear prominently throughout the list.

“SCCA clinicians exemplify patient care for every aspect of cancer diagnosis, treatment and survival, both locally and across the globe,” said Dr. Nancy Davidson, president and executive director of SCCA. “We are gratified to see their work recognized.”

This year’s complete list, compiled by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. includes more than 400 doctors in 67 specialties, all nominated by their peers for providing exceptional patient care. This year, again in conjunction with Seattle Magazine, Castle Connolly additionally opened up the nomination survey process to all licensed physicians in 66 specialty areas in the region for the period from June 26, 2017 to July 26, 2017. More than 7,800 nominations were submitted by more than 600 physicians. Following a review of all nominations, Castle Connolly identified more than 1,400 Top Doctors with primary offices located in King, Kitsap, Pierce and Snohomish counties, to select and create the ‘elite subset’ of 446 providers that appear in Seattle Magazine’s April 2018 issue.

“We are immensely proud of the great care all of our providers provide the patients of Seattle Cancer Care Alliance,” said Dr. Marc Stewart, medical director and vice president of SCCA. “They are respected leaders among their peers, colleagues and most important our patients and caregivers.”

SCCA physicians earned the majority of its nominations in the surgery category, with 21 of its doctors being recognized in numerous types of surgery in that combined category. SCCA doctors also ranked well in specific cancer specialty categories, with 23 doctors named to the overall list.
