SEATTLE — March 3, 2017 — Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Executive Vice President Norman (“Norm”) E. Hubbard received a gold “Outstanding Medical Center Executive - Seattle” award from Seattle Business magazine. The award was presented to Hubbard at the magazine’s eighth annual Health Care Leader awards event, held in Seattle at Bell Harbor Convention Center on March 2.
The Leaders in Health Care awards recognize excellent patient care, outstanding leadership and thoughtful innovation. Gold and silver winners were recognized in a variety of categories including Outstanding Medical Center Executive, Achievement in Community Outreach and Innovation in Health Care Delivery. The winners, chosen by a panel of expert judges, are individuals and institutions leading the charge to improve Washington's world-class health care sector.

The Outstanding Medical Center Executive - Seattle award recognizes leaders who have excelled in managing a hospital or medical center in the Puget Sound area. Hubbard was named a silver finalist for the same award in 2013.
Additional SCCA affiliated awards recipients at Seattle Business magazine Health Care Leaders awards event on Thursday night included Dr. Ollie Press, Acting Director, Clinical Research Division and Acting SVP at Fred Hutch who earned a gold Achievement in Medical Research award; Dr. Paul Ramsey, CEO of UW Medicine who earned a Judges’ Award; Dr. Jeffrey Tomlin, Chief Medical and Quality Officer at EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, who earned a gold Outstanding Medical Director/Chief Medical Officer award; Dr. Peter McGough, Medical Director of UW Neighborhood Clinics, who earned a gold Outstanding Medical Director/Chief Medical Officer award and Cynthia J. Hecker, Executive Director of Northwest Hospital & Medical Center, who took home a Silver Outstanding Medical Center Executive - Seattle award.
Hubbard joined Seattle Cancer Care Alliance in 1998 where he is responsible for overall strategic leadership and operational management. Prior to that, Hubbard was the Associate Vice President of Center Affairs for M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He holds an MBA in Health Care Administration Management from Wharton in Pennsylvania, and a B.S. in Economics from George Mason University in Virginia.
