For 30 years, Hutch School provided educational services to assist both patients and family members undergoing treatment as Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA). It was a true labor of love for everyone connected to it. Sadly, declining enrollment and mounting costs of delivering K-12 services in a sustainable and comprehensive manner led to the difficult decision of closing the school at the end of the 2017-18 school year.
We understand that treatment can be a challenging time for patients and families — particularly for those travelling from outside the Seattle area — and strive to support their needs in order to work toward the least disruptive experience possible.
