We are conducting a research study to examine the impacts of body size, hormone levels, and the bacteria in the gut on breast density. If you are interested in this study, please take the screening survey:

Participant Benefits

Participants in this study will be provided with:

  • Up to $75 payment for time and participation
  • Free parking when on Fred Hutch campus

Participant Requirements

For this study people who are currently menstruating would need to be:

  • 18 to-45 years old
  • Not currently pregnant
  • Willing to collect urine and stool samples at home one time and return to Fred Hutch in a pre-paid shipping box
  • Willing to come to an in-person visit at Fred Hutch where you will:
    • Complete a questionnaire
    • Undergo a body scan to  measure breast density and body composition
    • Undergo a blood draw

Dr. Holly Harris

Holly R. Harris, M.P.H., Sc.D.

Principal Investigator for Study

Dr. Harris is a public health researcher who studies the impact of lifestyle, nutrition and genetic factors on women’s health. She focuses specifically on ovarian and breast cancer, as well as the hormonally related conditions that share reproductive risk factors with these diseases such as endometriosis and uterine fibroids.
