How We're Keeping You Safe

South Lake Union House (formerly SCCA House), and Pete Gross House staff are working closely with our Infection Prevention team to protect residents from the spread of COVID-19.

We are taking the following steps:

Masks

  • All staff are required to wear procedure or cloth masks.
  • All residents are required to wear masks when outside of their room and unable to stay at least 6 feet apart from others. Every resident is provided a new procedure mask each day.
  • All clinic visitors must wear masks.

Screening and Testing

  • Residents are screened for COVID-19 symptoms at many different points before and during their stay, including:
    • One week before they arrive.
    • When they check-in to houses.
    • Before getting on the Fred Hutch shuttle.
    • At the entrance to the South Lake Union Clinic.
  • If a resident is found to be symptomatic during any of these points, they will receive instructions on what to do next.

Social Distancing

  • Residents are asked to limit time in shared spaces that must be used, such as the kitchen and laundry areas at South Lake Union House.
  • All common areas in the South Lake Union House are closed; this includes the dining, fitness, media, and wellness rooms.
  • Residents are asked to practice social distancing at all times.

Other

  • All high traffic areas are cleaned at least 3 times daily.
  • Patients are asked to limit the number of people staying with them.
  • No visitors are allowed in the houses. Home health care workers are an exception.
  • Patients and caregivers must provide their cell phone numbers at check-in. This allows us to contact them if they are exposed to a COVID-19 positive patient.
  • Residents receive weekly written COVID-19 updates from housing leadership.
